The instructional designer will assist faculty and staff with developing learning modules, courses, and programs for online and hybrid/blended instructional delivery. Course and program development will include advice about appropriate technology as well as recommendations about content arrangement, visual aids, sequencing of lessons, use of assessments, and selection of class activities. The instructional designer will also provide consultation, training, and workshops to faculty and staff on the effective integration of technology into courses and other College programs based on sound pedagogical research and best practice.
Required Skills
Completed Master's degree in a relevant subject area;
Two years professional experience related to instructional design;
Thorough knowledge of current learning technologies in both online and face-to-face environment;
Well-developed content presentation skills;
Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years professional experience related to instructional design;
Experience in higher education or other academic setting;
Knowledge of online learning management systems (e.g. ANGEL, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.)
Experience teaching courses or providing training either face-to-face or online;
Knowledge of adult learning pedagogy;
Experience managing projects;
Excellent writing skills;
Experience applying for and/or managing grant funded projects related to technology.
