    • Hi Jan,

How about a user group for Blackboard Certified Trainers?

      Have a great day,

      Bill DeWysockie

    • Bill,

Great idea.  Sahar and I will work with the Blackboard Training Services team to get the ball rolling.

Does anyone have ideas for other user groups? or groups based on specific topics, technologies, or other idea?

    • Jan, do we have a National K-12 Users Group?  I'd be willing to work on one if not.

    • Hi Dan,

Great idea.  To my knowledge we don't have a National K12 user group!  Thanks for volunteering to help lead this.  I'd like to put you in touch with Sahar and folks from our K12 team to help get this off the ground.  Look for an email about this in your inbox.

      Thanks again!

    • Hi Dan,

This is so timely! I've been talking with our client managers on starting up a K-12 user group. Let's you, me and Eleanor talk about this next week. Sound good? I'll send you an invite.

    • Hi Bill,

Great idea about having a spot for the Certified Trainers. I'm meeting with Connie Weber the first week of December to talk about this. Perhaps we can loop you in and get your ideas after I meet with her?

      Sahar

    • Hi Sahar,

Sure. Glad to help in any way. I was going to suggest a listserv for the Certified Trainer community, but a site like this that allows users to receive posts as email hopefully would encourage more interaction. The trick will be getting everyone to sign up.

    • I'd love to see a User Group based on using WebCT/Blackboard to support the face to face classroom (ie, Blended Learning). I think much of the support/ resources assumes a wholly online practice, whereas my primary concern is the uses in extneding the face to face classroom.

    • Hi Amy,
That's a cool idea. Almost like a pedagogical based group that focuses on tactics that would tactics that work in an online environment and ideally, engage your students more. The closest thing I can think of at the moment that does something like that is LICN. Their user group info is: http://connections.blackboard.com/groups/e1ab89bf09/summary and website is: http://lcin.wordpress.com/. Bonita Bray (also on this community) runs that group and would be a good person to talk to about their next meeting, etc.

    • I think, a combined group (with blog and discussion board) of schools with Blackboard Academic Suite and WebCT/Vista moving to the unified Blackboard Learn platform proof very useful.
